Estate-Wide Green Energy Solutions

Public sector estates, whether they are schools, hospitals or community services, are identifying opportunities to reduce energy costs, lower emissions and decarbonise using renewable and green sources of energy. In collaboration with its partners, Place Group supports estate-wide solutions through strategy development, procurement and implementation of technical and behavioural change interventions.

Commissioned by the Department for Education and GB Energy, we have helped the devise net zero accelerator programme and pilot schemes across over 100 schools, significantly reducing energy costs and waste, and supporting transformational change in attitudes and behaviours of staff and students to climate action. Interventions include:

• Installation of LED lighting and solar PV arrays
• Identification and remedies of electricity and water waste
• Inclusion of EV charging points and contracts
• Condition improvements leading to greater energy efficiency
• Heating system controls optimisation
• Climate Action Plans facilitated by partner Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Advisors
