The first stage of the Academy Conversion process involves registering your ‘interest to convert’ with the Department for Education, and this is achieved using an online Registration of Interest form provided on the DfE website.
If you have not yet made a firm decision to commence the conversion process then, we are happy to provide any advice or support required, using our skills and experience, to help you make that decision. Place has an established track record in supporting school leaders through the Academies programme, having supported 40 of the 200 Academies opened to date – so we know what it takes to accelerate a school into becoming an Academy.
Once you have registered, you then need to get in touch with the named Department for DfE contact allocated to you and complete your application form, using the guidance pack which the DfE will send to you. During this process we can offer a range of support, including:
- Helping you to ask questions and request clarification from your DfE contact where required
- Supporting you in the use of the guidance pack and helping you to complete the application form
- Developing a project plan with clear timescales
Once all of the above has been achieved, we can then help you to start the whole school change programme that will underpin your Academy Conversion process.
